About This Item
London: George Allen and Unwin, 1982. First edition, first printing. Published by George Allen and Unwin in London, 1982. This is a fine copy. The dust wrapper is bright throughout and without notable wear. It has not been price clipped and has a publisher's sticker. The boards are tight and free from notable chips and marks. The text blocks are bright and white. This copy is free from previous owners ink and is in near fine condition. Published posthumously in book form in 1982. One of Tolkien's least-known short works, it tells the story of Mr. Bliss and his first ride in his new motor-car. Many adventures follow: encounters with bears, angry neighbours, irate shopkeepers, and assorted collisions.
Synopsis
Mr. Bliss's first outing in his new motor-car, shared with several friends, bears, dogs, and a donkey, though not the Girabbit, proves to be unconventional though not inexpensive.
