Lippincott and Co., 1949. 8vo size maroon clothbound hardcover with black titles on spine and black decoration on front cover; 126 deckle edged pages with some full page black and white illustrations and some black and white decorations The title page is a two page spread color illustration. This is the second book in the Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle children's book series about Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle. Author Betty Macdonald ( 1907 - 1958) is also known for her book, The Egg and I, which introduced Ma and Pa Kettle. Illustrator and author Kurt Wiese (1887 - 1974) wrote and illustrated 20 books of his own including two books which earned Caldecott Honors, and illustrated 300 title for other others including a Newbury Award book and four Newbury Honor books. Edgewear, bumped head and heel of spine and corners, backstrap is lightly sunned. There are stains across the top back cover where it appears the book once came into contact with paint. The bottom front corner is worn, there is a teeny hole in the spine cover and there are names and price on fep. We noted soil or fingermarks in the margin of at least eight pages; the full page illustration opposite page 78 has a spot and soil in the margins and there are light spots on page 75 and 82 and two light spots on page 83. .
