New York: E.P. Dutton, 1949. A private school on the California coast is in a state of turmoil after the headmaster disappears and his secretary is murdered. Gently bumped with a touch of rubbing at the tips, small drip mark to the upper edge of the text block, and a very faint damp stain to the lower front corner. Previous owner's name on the front end paper. Jacket rubbed with mostly light wear at the edges and a 2" by 3" chip to the upper front panel. Corresponding damp stain to the lower front corner, in Brodart.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Fair.
