About This Item
Maskew Miller, Cape Town, 1960. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Good/Poor. signed. Signed by Author(s)Complete. In English and Afrikaans (reverse sides). Signed by HANNES BREWIS - not by the author - on the title page of the Afrikaans side of the book. Hannes Brewis was perhaps one of the greatest South African rugby players during the 1940s and early 1950s. He was a core member of the legendary Springbok team tour of Great Britain in 1949. His manager, for that tour and for much of his successful international career was Frank Mellish, the author of this rib-sticking, jocular, open letter to Danie Craven. The dustjacket is playful and spirited. It is whole and entire. There is much scuffing and wear. The board cover is whole and strong. It has staining about the spine. Inside, the initial pages on either side of the book are marked and foxed. From thereon the contents are clear, clean, sure, playful and confident and sound. fk.
