Billing itself as 'an immortal contribution to the history of the years immediately preceding the outbreak of the Second World War', a series of articles from Churchill analyse the cause of this international crisis.Illustrated with a number of photographic plates, also present is the 1949 edition of 'Great Contemporaries', first published in 1937. In this work, Churchill has selected twenty-five essays on 'Great Men of Our Age', including Chamberlain, Asquith and Curzon.
