New York: Macmillan , 1932. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. 8vo 8" - 9" tall. Sturdy, attractive, tightly bound hardcover, clean, if lightly toned interior, minimal rubbing to extremities. Bound handsomely in two-tone, brick cloth over boards, gilt device to front cover, black cloth-backed. Bumping to spine head and foot, but still sharp gilt wreath to front cover, lettering to spine. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, moderately worn, doubly price-clipped front flap, tape-repaired interior (i.e., not over exterior) at spine bottom and at rear panel fold at top, now protected by a plastic coat. This is Garland's third volume in the trilogy of reminiscences (the first being "Roadside Meetings," and the second being "Companions on the Trail"). Includes memories of, among many, many others, Theodore Roosevelt, Irving Bacheller, Winston Churchill, John Mansfield, Ellen Glasgow, John Galsworthy, Amy Lowell, and Rudyard Kipling. Volume contains scholarly apparatus in the form of, e.g., notes, index, and bibliography. xvi [1], 1-544 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
