A new edition of this work that was originally serialised in Charles Dickens's All the Year Round and first published in 1862.Wilkie Collins was an English author known for his early sensation novel The Woman in White and for The Moonstone, first modern English detective novel. In a half calf binding over marbled boards, marbled endpapers. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear, back strip faded, lightly rubbed to joints, boards, and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Minor spotting to first and last few leaves, pages otherwise generally bright and clean. Very Good

Synopsis

No Name is a 19th-century novel by the master of sensation fiction, Wilkie Collins. A country gentleman is killed in an accident and his wife dies shortly after him. The blow is double for their daughters, who discover that they were born before their parents were married. Their sudden illegitimacy robs them of their inheritance and their accustomed place in society.
