London, W. Simpkin and R. Marshall, 1822 (5th ed. First 5 editions all in same year). 2 Volumes. Hardback, approx 8.5 x 5 inches. Halfbound calf leather with marbled paper to boards. Gilt lettering and banding to spines. In very good conditions. Corners slightly bumped and nicked, small chips to top corners of spines. Some rubbing to boards. Paper chipped on board edges. Bookplate to front endpaper “Atkinson.” Some handling marks and occasional mild foxing spots to pages, Vol.2 with some pencil marks to front endpaper, and water stain to bottom corner of frontis plate (affects some pages to approx p80, and last appendix pages.), else pages overall clean and tight throughout. Else very good copies. 511 & 542pp. Illustrated with 2 B&W engraved frontis portraits and a view of Napoleons home.
