About This Item
Hardcover. Very Good. Publlished by Scolar Press for the Navy Records Society, Aldershot, 1984, being volume 125 of the Society publications in this series; 8vo, 155 x 230mm; standard blue cloth titled gilt on the spine and with the roundel of the Society in gilt on the front cover; no dust wrapper called for; pp xiii, [i], 546; extremely slight fading of the spine but otherwise in near fine condition. ... ... ... ... ... Following on after 30 years from Volume IV of "The Naval Miscellany" sub-series, this volume is, as the Preface explains, another selection of pieces worthy of publication but individually too short to form a volume. There are here 13 such pieces in all ranging from Papers from the Commission of Enquiry of 1608, through "Benbow's Last Fight ... the battle of Cape Santa Marta 19-24 August 1702" and "Sir Henry Keppel's Account [of the] Capture of the Bomarsund, August 1854" to "De Robeck and the Dardanelles Campaign" and more.
