About This Item

London: Victor Gollancz, 1977. 4th Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 4th impression of the 2nd volume in the author's celebrated 3-vol history of the American Civil War. A nice, bright, clean copy, red cloth gilt, pp. 559, pictorial endpapers (maps). Pushed at the spine tips but square and tight. Free from annotations, owner names etc, the top edge is dust-marked but a VG copy, certainly. The dustjacket is complete with absolutely no loss, a little colour-faded with minor tanning and some minor marks to the rear panel.

Synopsis

Never Call Retreat: Lee and Grant: The Final Victory is the conclusion of an alternate history trilogy by former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Newt Gingrich, William R. Forstchen, and Albert S. Hanser. It was published in 2005 by Thomas Dunne Books. The other two books are Grant Comes East and '. The novel is illustrated with actual photographs of the Civil War, taken somewhat out of context.
