Paris: Editions Edouard Pelletan / Helleu et Sergent Editeurs, 1922. An edition of Diderot's subversive classic illustrated by Bernard Naudin, one of the great book illustrators of the early 20th century. Includes a striking etched portrait of Diderot by Naudin, here present in two states: the first state on Japanese paper and the final state on Chinese paper. Also includes seven wood-engravings by Perrichon after designs by Naudin. Edition limited to 750 numbered copies, of which THIS IS ONE OF ONLY 25 COPIES BEAUITFULLY PRINTED IN BLACK AND RED ON FINE CHINESE PAPER. Squarish 8vo. Loose as issued in original wraps. Uncut, largely unopened, fine, and bright. Original folding case a bit worn but still structurally sound.
