Frontispiece portrait of Alexander III protected with a tissue guard. Remarkable history of the Russian Jews, profusely illustrated with numerous b/w photographic reproductions. Heavy rubbing along edges of binding. Previous owner's bookplate on inside of front cover. Frontispiece detached but present. Ex-library copy with stamp on title page and pocket at rear. Very minor age toning along paper margin. Binding in overall fair to good-, interior in good to good+ condition.
