Rome.: Sperone., (1972).. Postcard. (148 x 105 mm).. Postcard with monochrome photograph with the printed text 'A New Sculpture / by / George and Gilbert' recto, verso with exhibition details verso. The scarce invitation for the Gilbert & George exhibition in Rome. The card for the exhibition at Sperone Gian Enzo and Fischer Konrad, from December 7th to 21st, 1972, shows Gilbert & George (or 'George and Gilbert' as here) seated in a bar. The image has been carefully distorted and gives a skewed and inebriated impression. Gilbert & George were present for the opening on December 7th.
