About This Item

Talisman House Publishers, 2000. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Scarce hardcover issue. Lacking a dustjacket, not sure if one was issued with this hardcover 1st Edition. This book is clean and bright, with no creases, no tears, and no markings. Despite much acclaim, Menashe was considered marginal on the American poetry scene. Prominent poets, critics and editors who have admired Menashe's work include Dana Gioia, Denis Donoghue, Billy Collins, Geordie Greig, and Christopher Ricks. Interest in his work picked up considerably in 2005 when New and Selected Poems was published by the Library of America as part of the American Poets project, after the author received the Neglected Masters Award from the Poetry Foundation.
