Martin Secker, 1929. 2nd Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. New Adelphi Library Edition without dust jacket, spine slightly sunned with gilt decoration to front board. Owners name to ffep. End papers partially tanned, small bumps to top edge of rear board. Binding is tight and the text is very clean. Described by Betjeman as 'A Work of Genius' this is the account of the author's childhood which was largely spent in Eton and London before the First World War. MacCarthy was member of the 'Bloomsbury' set and married Desmond MacCarthy to whom the book is dedicated. Reduced postal rates apply.
