Jonathan Cape, 1929. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Very Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Illustrator: Hugh Lofting. Very scarce Lofting in 1929 Cape First Edition. All text pages are in VG or better condition, except title page which carries some very small brown stains/spotting, some very minor (barely discernible) foxing on front and rear endpapers, and some light brown stains (not foxing) on pp. 58-59. All colour illustrations clear and bright. Spine is slightly sun-faded, but all type on spine and covers is crisp. Foxing to rear cover, some grubbiness on front cover. Evenm with these above-mentioned flaws, this remains overall a very presentable copy (without DJ) of a very scarce title. Size: Small Octavo. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Edges browned slightly. Covers are grubby in spots but otherwise in sound condition. Illustrator: Hugh Lofting. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilogram. Category: Children; Antiquarian & Rare.
