France: Eleutheropolis, aux devantures des libraires Ailleurs dans leurs Arrière-Boutiques, 1866. Frontispiece engraved by Félicien Rops, on China in double proof in black and bistre. Fine, and finely bound by A. Bertrand (stamp-signed) in half crushed gold morocco over marbled boards, the back with five raised bands and gilt lettering, marbled end papers, top gilt. With the excellent provenance; FEP the bookplate of Charles Reginald Dawes, (1879-1964), noted British collector of erotica, whose library was left to the British Museum library (now the British Library). This title not found in the Sotheby auction of 1965, titled "Property of a Gentleman". . First Edition. Half Morocco. Fine. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
