[Mexico] A petition calling for the fair treatment of Mexican immigrants in the US. Nuestra Insignia de Infamia; Peticion a las Naciones Unidas sobre el tratamiento al Inmigrante Mexicano. Los Angeles: Comite de Los Angeles para la Protecccion de Nacido en el Extranjero, 1960. Text is in Spanish. The English translation of the title reads: "Our Badge of Infamy; Petition to the United Nations on the treatment of Mexican immigrants". Black and white stapled pictorial wrappers of Latinx individuals protesting with picket signs. Measures 7" x 5". 64 pages total. Featured within is a detailed petition proclaiming "a common idea for which all peoples and nations must strive, so that both individuals and institutions must promote, through teaching and education, respect for these rights and freedoms, and ensure their recognition and universal application and indeed". Also highlighted are passages detailing "Economic contributions", "North Americans of Mexican Descent", and "Braceros", and several sections honoring the names of the Los Angeles committee and other patrons. Powerful, and in very good condition.
