Los Angeles, CA: Occidental Publishing Co., 1905. First edition. Scarce early Occidental College magazine. Contains the first appearance of Jeffers' poem "The Fox" (p.1) by "R. J." [Alberts A-10]. Jeffers also mentioned on p. 15 - in the field day match between Occidental and Pasadena YMCA ("Jeffers took second" in the two-mile race). Large 8vo (7 x 9.75") light gray-brown stapled paperwraps with art-nouveau cover design; 20 pages. Staples slightly rusted, innermost leaf loose but present, few light creases and minor stains but otherwise very good to near fine. Scarce to rare early college periodical. Also included is a fine copy of the 20 x 26" centennial celebration poster issued by the college featuring Jeffers' poem, "Rock and Hawk.
