Green cloth boards with campfire pictorial stamped on front cover. Illustrated endpapers. Corners tips and foot of spine rubbed. Short gift inscription on half-title page; comic note about a German tourist and bears inscribed in top margin of one page, else clean. 32 photographs on plates, plus frontispiece. Ruth Taylor White's whimsical in-text illustrations are featured throughout. Index. Dust jacket shows light soiling on front panel; head of spine lightly chipped; a couple small chips at bottom of rear panel; not price clipped ($2.50); in an archival mylar sleeve. xii, 178 pages. Horace M. Albright (1890-1987) was an American conservationist who served as the nation's second Director of the National Park Service, 1929 -1933. Prior to that, between 1919 and 1929, he served as the Superintendent of Yellowstone National Park.
