Demy 8vo; original red buckram, with gilt Cape Dutch homestead to upper cover, and spine lettered in gilt; t.e.g.; pp. 320 + 16; plates; engravings and plans in text. Backstrip very slightly sunned; gift inscription to W. Copenhagen, Rondebosch, to front pastedown; ownership inscription to front free endpaper and penned reference to frontis. recto; some informed marginal annotations; foxing to endpapers, outermost leaves and edges, occasional fox spot elsewhere. Good condition. (Mendelssohn II, p. 527) "The volume contains a large number of quaint and beautiful engravings accompanied by much interesting and instructive information." - Mendelssohn .
