The first edition of this work, inscribed by Gertrude Bone to the front free endpaper "To Mr and Mrs Jordan Bottomley with love from Gertrude Bone," dated Christmas 1925, and signed by Muirhead Bone in pencil to the frontispiece.A lovely novella by Gertrude Bone following the events set in a cottage in the countryside.Loosely inserted is a charming sample of another work by this author, Oasis. Illustrated with a frontispiece by Muirhead Bone. In the original publisher's cloth binding, with titles stamped in gilt to front board and spine. Externally very smart with minor shelfwear and head and tail of spine. Inscribed by the author to the front free endpaper "To Mr and Mrs Jordan Bottomley with love from Gertrude Bone," dated Christmas 1925. Loosely inserted, a sample of Gertrude Bone's book Oasis. Frontispiece is signed in pencil by Muirhead Bone. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Illustrated by the frontispiece designed by Muirhead Bone. Near Fine
