Boston: Walter H. Baker & Co, 1889. Wraps. Good. 12mo. 18 pp, [6 pp] ads at rear. Tan paper wraps, printed in black. Lacking rear wrapper, cracking at front joint repaired with mending tape. Chipping to fore edge. Light soiling to pp 8-9. Baker's Novelties: An Entertainment in One Scene. Set during a gathering of The Old Maids' Matrimonial Club, wherein a group of single women get together to discuss marriage prospects and devise new ways of catching bachelors and widowers. Described in the stage directions is a prop called "The Electric Transform(H)er," which when used alongside any of the several elixirs given out by "The Professor" will turn even "the most abject, dried-up old maid" into a fair young lady.
