The first edition of Ralph Nevill's curated collection of art prints showing various equestrian sport scenes, illustrated in colour. The first edition of this work.A selection of beautiful sporting prints showing many different equestrian sports in all their glory.Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, thirty-five colour plates, and sixteen monochrome plates.Compiled by Ralph Nevill.Published by 'The Connoisseur Magazine', a popular British fine art magazine that was published from 1901 to 1992.Bookplate of Henry Courtney Brocklehurst to the front pastedown. Brocklehurst was a Lieutenant-Colonel who was killed in action in Burma during the Second World War. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Minor fading to the spine and tail of the front board. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Minor marks to the boards and spine. Front hinge is starting but firm. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with just a couple of odd light spots. Pages 61 to 66 are detached but present. Good
