First Edition 1930, detailed look at the career and travels of Major Horace Bell in the 19th Century, Bell was one of the first lawmen in Southern California, new material discovered upon Bell's death in 1918, 336 pages including index, 32 half-tone black and white illustrations. Important early historical narrative of Southern California. Six Guns #188. Book is near Fine, No previous owner bookplate or writing, tight and square with sharp points, very clean dark grey weave publishers' cloth with red and black title block on front cover and on spine. Illustrated end papers with four old engravings, Jacket is Very Good Plus, price intact, light corner wear also at head and heel of spine, edge wear especially bottom edge of front panel has light chips and folds. Looks sharp in a new mylar sleeve. Very clean and most presentable First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall.
