1955. Mixed media on paper. Signed "Henry Gurr" R. H.Gurr worked for both Ford and Lincoln in Detroit during the early 1950's. He was the author of several books on the subject of auto design: "How to Draw the Car of Tomorrow" - 1952, and "Automobile Design: The Complete Styling Book" - 1955. At about that time he moved to California and got a job as a designer for Disney Land. This handsome back view of an Oldsmobile 88 demonstrates many stylistic features of the period. in fact, it is a quintessential 1950's American car.
