Outer edges with tanning, stains and foxing. Outer edges are deckled. Guttering occurring in the front of book. No loose pages and binding is tight. "This man in the open is first a trapper, then a sailor, then a cowboy, last a ranger. He knows the bitter cold of Labrador winters, what it is to be wrecked at sea, how it feels to live a brother to the grizzly in the wilds of the great Northwest. Always he is a lover and a worshipper of nature. He falls in love with a grand opera singer, whom chance has brought to the forest and wilderness, marries her, loses her, fights for her, loses her again. (image of actual book) with No DJ. 1912. B9.
