" After 17 years of labour St. Paul's Cathedral is once more safe, and it will be crowded at a great thanksgiving service, to be held at noon on Wednesday. The service will be accompanied by a picturesque ceremony on the city boundary at Temple Bar, where the Lord Mayor will surrender his pearl sword to his Majesty the King, who, after touching It lightly, will return It. A special place of honour will be given to the workmen, many of whom have worked on the fabric for more than a quarter of a century. Eighteen of the men will sit near their Majesties beneath the dome. There will be a dramatic moment under the dome, when the Dean (the Very Rev. \V. R. Inge), with the vast audience standing, will announce: "I bid you welcome to our Cathedral church of St. Paul's, this day having seen completed the work of restoration.
