Includes an essay about what it may have been like to be a printer in the 15th Century, and two more about important printers from that period: Nicolaus Jenson and Aldus Manutius. There is also a chapter of autobiography, about the author's first years in Francestown. Finally there is a reminiscence of a much loved bookseller, David Low.

Three titles bound in one volume. 149; 125; 115 pages. Hardcover nicely bound in three quarter black morocco leather with green cloth boards in a modern removable mylar jacket. Raised bands on the spine. Top edge gilt. There is light wear to the binding, which is a little bumped at the edges. The text is toned but clean and sound. Three separately published titles bound in one volume (bound in the order of No. 3; No. 2; and No. 1). Original wrappers bound in on the second two titles. As a special note, the "Race Elements in the White Population of North Carolina" does NOT pertain to black and whites (or slaves) but to divisions within the white race, specifically the English in North Carolina, the Highland Scotch, the Scotch-Irish, and the Germans in North Carolina. Brown cloth on boards. Small library label stuck in on front paste down endpaper. Neat previous owners name on title page. Clean copies with no other markings or labels throughout. An attractive mid nineteenth century binding.:

A Fine prospectus prepared for and sent to the Press' regular customers, in wraps about 8 by 10 inches. The written prospectus is bound in burgundy wraps with a cover printed on handmade paper with silk stitched binding. Text, on heavy, rough-cut stock, includes illustrations by Karin Wikstrom , and is four pages long. Laid in are: a two page letter dated October 18, 1991 and signed by the Press' owners, Carolyn and James Robertson; an order form with return envelope; and a color photograph of the soon to be released book. Very unusual item.

Finely bound in decoratively stamped light brown leather, with bevelled edges and spine in compartments. Marbled endpapers, all edges gilt, frontispiece, full-page illustrations with tissue guards. A gilt-tooled leather presentation label on the inside of the front board and a bookseller blindstamp on the first blank page.
