Walton, NY: The Reporter Company, 1953. This scarce title is bound in heavy buff paper with black lettering on the front cover (no spine letters). Book is in good condition with creased and cocked spine, foxing, edgewear and cover soil.Two full-page black-and-white photos appear before the title page; a fold-out map appears partway through the text, and there are 18 black-and-white photo plates at the rear. Yager's book, sponsored by Hartwick College (Oneonta, NY), represents a translation of the narrative believed to have been written by scholar and explorer Johannes Van Dyk during his travels among the Mohawk in the 17th century. Yager died before the completion of this manuscript, as noted in the Editor's Notes at rear. 185 pages; approx. 6"x8".. First Printing. Soft Cover. Good/No Jacket. Illus. by Photo Illustrated.
