The first edition of Martin Johnson's account of his explorations of Africa, concerning his intrepid excursions. Richly illustrated with photographs throughout. The first edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding. Bookplate and sticker to the front free end paper. Illustrated with 100 illustrations, including a frontispiece. Collated complete. Written by Martin Johnson, one half of the renowned adventuring married couple Martin and Osa Johnson. The Johnsons produced films and writings relating to their explorations across exotic lands, including Borneo, the South Pacific Islands and Africa, providing their American audience with their first understanding of these far-flung lands. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally smart, though slightly faded to the spine, with minimal shelf wear to the extremities. Front hinge is starting but is still firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for a little offsetting to the first and last few pages. Very Good Indeed
