This lithograph is one of 25 copies commissioned by 20th Century-Fox in 1940 to publicize the film version of The Grapes of Wrath, this image of Pa Joad is one of five character studies, the others were Ma Joad, Jim Casy, Tom Joad, and Rose of Sharon, Benton also produced The Departure of the Joads which was one of 100 copies, this matted image measures c.7.5X9.5 inches, the frame size is c.16X20 inches, this lithograph sold at Heritage Auctions in 2007 for $1,195. Fine, although not examined out of the frame.
