The reminiscences of the author, who, for the last 13 years of Ernest Hemingway's life was a boon companion, who, with Hemingway went deep sea fishing with him, travelled the bullfighting circuits in Spain, ran the bulls in Pamplona and went hunting with him in Idaho. "The author's affection for Hemingway is clear, and his very moving account of the forces that eventually overcame the writer and drove him to self-destruction is told with compassion that reveals Ernest Hemingway's death as tragic." Faint offset tanning to the end pages with original bookseller's sticker to the lower right-hand corner of the front paste-down. Chipping of the dustwrapper corners and back strip edges. There is a 2 inch tear to the top edge of the front panel, a 3 inch tear to the top right-hand corner of the rear panel and a 1.5 inch tear to the lower edge of the same panel.
