DJ has shelf-wear present (DJ panels lightly scuffed and worn, trace of scuffing present to the spine ends). Bound in cloth boards with gilt titles present. Boards have light shelf-wear present to the extremities. No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks. Offsetting present to the endpapers. Binding tight and solid. Thorne is a malcontent and a bully. He disobeys his teacher and goes with several other boys to get some athletic equipment at Cockley School when he decides to do a backflip off a building. Leslie Purnell Davies (20 October 1914 – 6 January 1988) was a British novelist whose works typically combine elements of horror, science fiction and mystery. He also wrote many short stories under several pseudonyms, including: L. Purnell Davies, Leo Berne, Richard Bridgeman, Morgan Evans, Ian Jefferson, Lawrence Phillips, Thomas Philips, G. K. Thomas, Leslie Vardre, and Rowland Welch. E-63; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
