About This Item

London Boston: Faber and Faber, 1990. Paperback Edition Reprinted. Wrappers. Fine/None. ASSOCIATION COPY: SIGNED by the Author on the title page & also SIGNED on the free front endpaper by Canadian poet, Greg Gatenby, to whom Golding presented it; 12mo, pictorial wrappers depicting a Jesus-like figure with red eyes wearing a crown of thorns, 191 pages. William Golding (1911 - 1993) won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1983. He was knighted in 1988, and was awarded the prestigeous Booker prize in 1980. The Nobel Foundation cited: "his novels which, with the perspicuity of realistic narrative art and the diversity and universality of myth, illuminate the human condition in the world of today."<br/> <br/> Golding SIGNED relatively few of his books. That this is also SIGNED by a fellow author to whom Golding presented his work makes it extra special. <br/> <br/> EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION internally & externally. Remarkably tight copy with a trace of typical light age-toning caused by the paper the publisher decided to use. First published in this edition in 1985.

Synopsis
