About This Item
New York: The Modern Library, 1940. 2nd Thus. Very Good. Second or later edition with a reset title and dedication page. No jacket. Red cloth over boards with gilded lettering and frames around black labels on front and spine. Bumped corners, sunning to spine, slightly cocked, bookplate on ffep, and siganutre of former owner on half-title. Interior is very clean and clear. The paper appears of better/thicker quality than most other printings from this period.
Synopsis
Although my name appears on the title page, the real author of this book is Miss Helen McGill (now Mrs. Roger Mifflin), who told me the story with her own inimitable vivacity. And on her behalf I want to send to you these few words of acknowledgment.
