Accompanied with in-text monochrome illustrations.The vivid illustrations are by William Cooper, who David Attenborough described as "Australia's greatest living scientific painter of birds; he is possibly the best in the world".Text by Australian expert on parrots, Joseph Forshaw, who was formerly the head of wildlife conservation for the Australian National Parks and Wildlife Service.An article from the November 23rd 1989 issue of 'Country Life' is loosely inserted, 'Parrots in Peril' by David Tomlinson.
