A scathing but often humorous conservatiive critique of US President Lyndon Johnson's so-called 'War on Poverty', a set of social programs costing taxpayers countless billions of dollars in the 1960s which aimed to reduce poverty among blacks especially but had no positive effects. Since this book's publication such programs have been massively expanded and with the same zero net effect. Soft cover, notes, indexed, 187pp. A very nice copy. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
