London, England: The Folio Society, 2013. Cloth. Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Volume i - xxxi, pp1-533. Volume II - xix, pp537-1032. Indexed, unpaginated bw photos, ports, maps. Dark blue endpapers. Red cloth w decorative motif, different for each volume. No wear to covers or spines. Bindings square and sound. Octavo. Dark blue slipcase with logo to side. Slipcase is clean showing small break to top open corner. A People's Tragedy was first published by Jonathan Cape in 1996. This Folio edition follows the text of the 1997 Pimlico edition, with minor emendations.

Synopsis

ORLANDO FIGES is a professor at Birkbeck College, University of London, and former University Lecturer in History at Cambridge. Born in London in 1959, he graduated with a double-starred first in History from Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, in 1982. His first book, Peasant Russia, Civil War , was described by one reviewer as 'one of the most important books ever published on the Russian Revolution'.
