London: Printed for T. Boys , 1822. Leather. Very Good Indeed. 5" by 3". Not Stated . Pocket sized copy of the Percy Anecdotes by Thomas Byerley in smart calf binding. Supposedly written by brothers Sholto and Reuben Percy, pseudonyms for respectively Joseph Clinton Robertson and Thomas Byerley. With frontispiece and engraved title page. Containing anecdotes of eloquence, concerned with Greek statesmen and orator Demosthenes, Cicero, Doctor Shaw, 'the orator of the human race,' and much more. Rebound in full calf with decorative gilt tooling to spine, marbled edges and endpapers. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear, light rubbing to joints. Previous owner's neat gift inscription to front free endpaper, dated 1823. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
