About This Item

These are rare pieces of sheet music, for Piano and Ukelele and/or Banjo.

Both are by Andy Razaf and Paul Denniker, published by Triangle Music in 1929.

The ukelele arrangements are by May Singhi Breen.

Both have an extra piece of music: Tell Me There's Hope for Me, by Howard Johnson and Joe Davis, also with the ukelele arrangement by May Singhi Breen.

'PERHAPS'

4 pages of music, plus cover and samples, 9 1/4" x 12 1/4"

Aside from tiny wear marks at the edges, condition is superb. It is both frameable and usable.

SPOSIN' is a foxtrot. The featured band on the cover is the Landt Trio and Howard White.4 pages of music, plus cover and samples, 9 1/4" x 12 1/4"

The Landt Trio was one of the busiest singing groups in early radio. In 1928, the three brothers, Karl (1908–1997), Jack (1911–1959), and Dan (1896–1961) Landt, with their accompanist Howard White, were signed onto the NBC Blue Network as sustaining artists and began a career of more than 20 years. They performed primarily on radio but also performed in vaudeville, including some headline runs at the Palace and Carnegie Hall, and made many personal appearances. They continued to perform on radio and in advertising until the early 1950s, when television ended their performance career.

Paul Denniker was a pianist, singer and bandleader whose work became more famous when it was recorded by Miles Davis and Fats Waller, among other jazz greats. There is more known about Razaf, who wrote some of the greatest hits from the Tin Pan Alley era, including "Ain't Misbehavin'", "Honeysuckle Rose", "In the Mood", "Stompin' at the Savoy", "Memories of You", "12th Street Rag", "Black and Blue", "Make Believe Ballroom", "Christopher Columbus", "Milkman's Matinee", Concentratin' On You", "You're Lucky to Me", "Porter's Love Song","Knock Me a Kiss", "Dusky Stevedore", "My Special Friend", "That's What I Like"Bout the South", "Keepin' Out of Mischief Now", "Blue Turning Gray Over You", "Shoutin' in the Amen Corner", "Gee, Baby, Ain't I Good to You?", "On Revival Day", "Stealing Apples", "How Can You Face Me?", "Massachusetts", "My Handy Man", "My Fate is in Your Hands", "The Joint is Jumpin'", "I'm Gonna Move to the Outskirts of Town", "If It Ain't Love", "The Burning Bush of Israel", "Am I My Brother's Keeper?", "Seeds of Brotherhood" and "Precious Rosary." He died in 1930 and was inducted into the Songwriters' Hall of Fame in 1972.
