About Charles Berry, Bookseller California, United States

Biblio member since 2004

I am jack of all trades, master of none, and this serves me well as a used book dealer. I formerly owned Berry\'s Books of Davis, CA, and closed to live on the Northern Calfornia Coast. Only about 20 of the 32,000 books I have sold since 1/98 have been returned by customers, so you can rely on my descriptions. I don\'t have regular hours to answer the telephone, but an answering machine is usually on, and I welcome emails and faxes(please include your email address with any fax). I really enjoy selling on the internet, and the freedom of not being chained to store hours or a big rent. Also, I like to sell esoteric, obscure, non-fiction books that few have the background to appreciate, but since I reach the whole world, I find those people! I try to ship ASAP, and confirm all shipments by email. I look forward to your order. Thanks. CB

Terms of Sale:

1. SHIPPING CHARGES: I charge the actual cost of mailing books, or you can use my standard rates. Typical alternatives are domestic bookrate (1-3 weeks), Domestic Priority (2-5 days), International Surface (1-3 months), Global Priority (about 1 week). Heavy books incur higher mailing costs. (The $9 fast international shipment is available only to countries that accept the global priority envelope, for books that fit into the envelope.) 2. PAYMENT: Make checks payable to \'Charles Berry.\' Send a postal money order to avoid check-clearing delays. I accept VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS and PAYPAL for purchases within the US, and selectively for international orders. 3. I will hold a book for 10 days. 4. RETURN POLICY: Books may be returned for any reason within 10 days. You pay for shipping both ways, unless the book is not as described. The book must be returned in the same condition as you received it. 5. SALES TAX: California residents please add 7% sales tax. California book dealers please include your resale number. 6. Books are offered subject to prior sale. 7. Prices are net to all. 8. CONDITION: It is my duty to describe a book\'s condition accurately. This is usually done in general terms (poor, fair, good, very good, fine/new). I gladly will provide more detailed information. 9. RECEIPT: Once a book is shipped, I email a \'Sales Receipt and Shipping Confirmation.\' 10. Bounced checks incur an additional $10 charge.

This completely updated version of the best-selling PiC Microcontroller Project Book boasts updated software, many new projects, and comprehensive coverage of the new PIC Basic Pro version of the controller

The PIC microcontroller is enormously popular both in the U.S. and abroad. The first edition of this book was a tremendous success because of that. However, in the 4 years that have passed since the book was first published, the electronics hobbyist market has become more sophisticated. Many users of the PIC are now comfortable shelling out the $250 for the price of the Professional version of the PIC Basic (the regular version sells for $100). This new edition is fully updated and revised to include detailed directions on using both versions of the microcontroller, with no-nonsense recommendations on which is better served in different situations.

First line

A microcontroller is an inexpensive single-chip computer.

From the rear cover

"Bound to spur the imagination and inspire plans for using PICs in new products and projects." --Poptronics

BESTSELLER!

NO ASSEMBLY LANGUAGE REQUIRED! 6 BRAND NEW PROJECTS!
What can you do with PIC microcontrollers? Practically anything -- from creating "photovore" robots that hunt light to feed their solar cells to making toasters announce, "Your toast is ready!" These low-cost computers-in-a-chip let electronics designers and hobbyists add intelligence, responsiveness, and functions that mimic big computers to any electronic product or project, including robotics.

Fully updated for use with the PICBasic Pro as well as the original PICBasic, this new edition of the PIC Microcontroller Project Book gives you hands-on directions for putting Microchip's RISC-based chips to work. Starting with simple projects and experiments, this book leads you gradually into sophisticated programming techniques. You need absolutely no programming experience to get started. John Iovine coaches you through every single step. Written with the beginner in mind, PIC Microcontroller Project Book gives you A-B-C guidance on how to:

* Get the equipment you need (includes lists of suppliers)
* Program your chip, from plugging in the breadboard to running the compiler, with lines of code to copy
* Use CodeDesigner and the latest Windows software
* Make your chip count numerically
* Deliver messages on a liquid crystal display
* Synthesize human speech
* Control DC motors, stepper motors, and servos
* Convert any analog signal to digital
* Add sensing abilities to robots
* Build decision-making neural and "fuzzy logic" functions into your projects

THE EASY WAY TO MASTER MICROCONTROLLERS
This book will be the springboard for thousands of innovative workshop projects!
