Botany Plant hunting . 1st. Ed. Pub. Jonathan Cape. 1934. pp.317 with b/w. photos. and fold-out map. 8vo. Hardback. Neat ownership insc. dated 1934 to ffep. Some spotting, map a little creased, o/w. contents fine. Original cloth lightly marked and gently sunned, o/w. nr. fine. Frank Kingdon Ward was one of the most famous British plant collectors to have worked in south-west China and the Himalayas. Though primarily a collector of seeds and plants for introduction to cultivation in European gardens, he also gathered dried specimens which were distributed among several herbaria.
