London: Whittaker & Co, 1850. First printing, serialized. A collection of 42 monthly issues, some from each of the volumes, each complete with their printed paper wrappers. Each issue contains 2 hand colored lithographic plate of medical plants along with a letterpress description of each. In total there are 82 plates. Plants featured include olives, melons, water lilies, mushrooms, bread-fruit, many medicinal plants & flowers, including the Swan River daisy. M. Burnett was the sister of Gilbert Burnett, the Professor of Botany at Kings Collage London.
This is a non consecutive run of issues, 4to, with the recipient's name written on the front cover. Some dusting of covers otherwise very good condition.
