About This Item
London: Oxford University Press, 1930. First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed/Very Good. 8" by 6". Not Stated. A lovely first edition copy of this poetry anthology by Lascelles Abercrombie, with the very scarce dust wrapper. The first edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the very scarce original unclipped dust wrapper. An anthology of the poems and plays of one of the "Dymock poets", Lascelles Abercrombie (1881-1938). Although not generally known now, Abercrombie was admired and respected by his fellow poets, especially for his poems in blank verse. This anthology includes 'Interludes', 'The Sale of St. Thomas', 'Emblems of Love', 'Twelve Idyls' and six plays. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally very smart, with light shelf wear to the extremities. Gilt remains bright. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot to the paste downs and end papers. Dust wrapper is generally fairly smart, though sunned to the spine and extremities, with chipping to the head and tail of the spine. Very Good Indeed
