About This Item
New York: Martin and Johnson, 1851. Hardcover. Near fine. Small quarto, 2 volumes, bound together. 352pp., 327pp., illustrated. A crisp, clean copy, near fine, in the publisher's brown morocco, stamped in black and gilt, with raised bands to spine, all edges gilt, and marbled endpapers. Some rubbing to extremities, and gentle scattered foxing to some of the plates. The verso of Moore's portrait contains a contemporary gift inscription, part of which has been effaced, though the portrait on the other side is hardly affected. Generally a very nice, gift-quality example of this classic of Irish literature.
