Fine without dust jacket as issued. Slipcase. When Chandler died, he left incomplete the seventh caper of Philip Marlowe. Parker picks up and completes the story. Recently married, Marlowe is hired by the local crime boss to find Les Valentine, a photographer who skipped out on a $100,000 bet. Marlowe's investigation involves him in pornography, bigamy and murder!
Synopsis
Poodle Springs is the eighth Philip Marlowe novel. It was started in 1958 by Raymond Chandler, who left it unfinished at his death in 1959. The four chapters he had completed, which bore the working title "The Poodle Springs Story", were subsequently published in Raymond Chandler Speaking (1962), a collection of letter excerpts and miscellaneous unpublished writings.
