Hodder & Stoughton, 1940. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1940. First Edition. 287 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth with black lettering to spine. One page of publisher's adverts to rear. Binding remains firm. Notable foxing and tanning to endpapers and page edges. Previous owner's name to front endpaper. Light soiling to rear endpapers. Slight bubbling and creasing to both pastedowns. Mild wear and bumping to spine, board edges and corners, with crushing to spine ends. Notable sunning to spine and edges, with faded staining and spotting all over boards. Pronounced rubbing to fore and bottom board edges, and to joints. Small split (approx. 1cm) along front joint. Book has a slight forward lean. Rear board is slightly bent.
