This is also a work with themes of gender, with the heroine envisioning a future in which "The man [may] be more of a woman, she of man." . Original green cloth, decoratively stamped in blind, with a floral pattern. Spine lettered in gilt. Small octavo. With the 8 pp. publisher's catalogue, dated November 1, 1847. Spine lettered in gilt. Spine faded, head and foot lightly chipped. A good, clean copy.
