London: Constable and Company Ltd, 1921. 1st Edition. Brown Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" Large. Illustrated. xviipp; 396pp. A first edition copy . Bound in brown cloth boards with gilt embossed lettering to the spine. Illustrated with 17 full page plates as called for, including a frontispiece plate with tissue guard and a fold out map. The head and tail of the spine are bumped with a 0.5 cm split to the cloth at the head and the tail of the spine with a couple of other niks to the head of the spine. Three board corners are lightly bumped and turned in and there is a contemporary bookplate of George Sinclair Stevenson to the front end paper. Some foxing to the fore edges, half title page and one to the title page. Two page corners are turned, leaving a neat crease. Clean and tight. A very good copy.
